Dear coltsfoot! You are not the most
distinguished plant the cultures host.
But you are strong, and lovely too,
the way you first and foremost do.

You take the step as soon as it,
the snow, has melted, being fit
to start the show. Your courage is
magnificent. We give you this.

And ugly you are not at all!
Perhaps you are not all that tall.
But your indecent, yellow crown
I happily would call my own!
